Why not sin as hell? It is after all, the natural thing to do. Modern day society deems all whom indulge in such behavior as repramandable, even bad people. While in fact the only thing they're doing is being human.
And we come to the real reason sin, as a concept, has such enormous success and is the thing that torments many people on day to day basis: envy. Although it's coming out of fear of superior beings and/or lack of afterlife sin is kept alive by envy.
A lot of people have decided, because of the way they were raised by their frustrated parents, to stay away from sin as it is mortal to the soul. We already know how little the soul has got to do with all that but let's not digress. Staying away from pleasurable activities deemed sinful, all those pure people look with envy at those who indulge themselves and live a satisfied life.
And because of envy you will see them pointing: there goes one of those bad people, they party all night and have sex with strangers and 'oh my lord' they masturbate and don't want to get married.
For us bad people it isn't really quite that bad. If one of the puritans points out to you, be happy he is envious of the way you lead your life. Tell them this:
There are no bad people, there are only people that live and people that don't.

If i come to think of..u did not shut me up! there are bad people but not in the way to described them to be. bad, as evil...I know this is another discussion, but to me,bad also means evil. SO, from this stand point, I do have to say that I agree with Rousseau's idea that people are born good, but made bad by the society. And if u come to think of it, it is true. Humans' true nature is not bad/evil, thyey become like that. There is an entire discussion on the opposing nature vs breeding- this might be the idea for a future post...
RăspundețiȘtergereThere is no absolute truth about the good or the bad in human nature. There is no black and there is no white and the infinite shades of gray of human behaviour and interaction take more than 20 smthing years to comprehend. This is YOUR truth, and YOUR perception at this time in your life, resulting from your life experience, SO FAR! You should present it as such, otherwise it seems quite immature! At least this is my opinion... for now. (btw, the notion of "sin" has a few more aspects than just the sexual ones)
RăspundețiȘtergere@Anonymous Though there are other "sins" than lust we must admit that this one is the most condemnable of all because it strips humans of basic pleasures. Of course this bible will not state that killing another human is permitted, unless it is in defense of an individual or his peers.
RăspundețiȘtergere@Monica The debate between good and evil was not in any way close to this about being "bad". But to say that people's nature is not the one responsible is an error that will be explained soon.
I do not think u are under any authority to categorize my asnwers as errors. They are, after all, personal opinions, and for one who writes for a somewhat wide public, u should respect more the opinions of others.
RăspundețiȘtergereDear Sir, I understand your opinions regarding this "orthodoxe" vs. "vicious" perspective of the human nature. But how do you explain "the vice" when the individual doesn't really acknowledges it as a fulfillment of his/her pleasures? When it is experienced with ignorance, being, at the same time, raised in a frustrated society (not talking only about parents, but about teachers, mates etc as they all contribute to the social shape of the individual). In which category do these "sinful", yet non-alive persons enter?
RăspundețiȘtergereAny compulsion like that means there is another underlying issue not being attended. For that reason those people are not alive. Compulsive satisfaction comes for satisfying only part your desires.
